I had to schedule time to go see family that I haven't seen in months, and I still got scheduled for a private event. You all went on a trip for a leadership rally, but spent most of the time getting drunk while your employees (who can BARELY catch a break) kept your doors open. Of course I understand that a business needs to make money, but you are overworking and underpaying your artists, and continuously adding classes and making changes that are to the detriment of the people who are keeping your doors open. How is that fair? It is incredibly clear that those working in customer service and private party planning have no idea how a regular studio runs, and will make bad decisions frequently without owning up to their mistakes. The classes are overlapped and scheduled in a way where, if you are working two sessions in a row, you only have time to clean and set up before the doors open again. We are all burnt out and exhausted, and the busy season has barely started. Either ask if we are available or don't schedule that many private events. Most of us work multiple jobs, and can't accommodate something like that. They won't even ask if we are available, they will just schedule us and hope that it works out. People have had to start blacking out days that we THINK we might be doing something to avoid getting scheduled. For the most part, you can't switch your shift because all of your coworkers are in the same boat. When scheduling private events and adding public classes, corporate won't check to see how many hours you are working that week, and will schedule you for doubles and triples without really caring to look. There have been multiple occasions where my coworkers and I have worked 10 or more days in a row, with multiple doubles, with no break. We have found the balance between fun and professional, and I can’t wait to keep growing the business and building up the team. I’ve been here since 2018, and trust me when I say if you’re lucky enough to secure a job here, you will enjoy most of your work experience. Muse is an ally to all forms of oppression, full with diverse and kind folx from the top down. I am afab non-binary, and have been celebrated in my leadership growth. If you want an actual career, and want to work for a company that is more of a community than anything, this is the place for you. That has been my truth through the good and bad. Excited to be part of a company that prioritizes it’s people 1st! If you work hard for the company, the company will work hard for you. We have some nasty reviews, which are understandable given the growing pains we went through, but since our revamp in 2020, we have fought tooth and nail to make the company better for everyone. If I need a day off, as long as the studio is staffed, I take it. Built my own team Room to grow Flexible hours make my own schedule Awesome coworkers Hard work, but worth it The best management experience! Work intimately with industry leaders Super chill environment, and sure some things are a bit chaotic sometimes but that’s just the industry, Not a 9-5! I work 30-40 hours per week, depending on company needs and my own schedule.
